Throughout our country's evolution, the people have fought for their beliefs and still continue to do so today.  Many of the pioneers of these movements were students, much like you.  Therefore, what are the issues today that you are personally passionate about? What is the issue?

A Generation of Degeneration?

  Too many of America’s Children are lazy, spoiled, and selfish, and need in more control than their parents…   “… Laziness, sloppiness, indiscipline, selfishness and general piggery, which are the natural talents of children and were once slapped out of them, now became either crimes of the parents or sickness in the children, who would far rather be sick than disciplined."  In fact, these kinds of families are offered a television show contract..

 How does this end up being such an epidemic in American society?  How is America to blame?  Do you know anyone who falls into this category? (please use a fake name)  All of America's children like this?  Why not?

Which show on TV do you believe makes  Americans look despicable or pathetic?  Give a quick gist as to what the show is about..  and SPECIFICALLY what makes it so embarrassing for us as Americans...

Which show on TV represents American in a positive manor or better yet, exemplifies positive stereotypes about this country- such as family values, pride in work, altruism (kindness to others), selflessness, patriotism. 

Our School system's report card:

 
1-  "…American public high schools are... seriously failing a substantial minority of young people across the nation," says Mike Cohen, president of Achieve, Inc.

Furthermore....“Large majorities of college instructors are dissatisfied with the job public schools are doing in preparing students for college when it comes to writing quality (62 percent) and their ability to read and comprehend complex materials (70 percent).”

QUESTION:
Is the American school system, more particularly, Liberty High School too weak and not preparing students for college or even the real world?   How can we change this? Who is to blame?
